Privacy policy
Short version: we collect an email address so we can tell you once when ordering opens. We don't sell it, we don't share it for marketing, and you can have it deleted by asking.
Who we are
REGO Collars is a small UK business selling personalised engraved leather dog collars. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the information described below.
You can reach us at regocollars@gmail.com about anything on this page, and we'll reply within 48 hours.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- your email address
- your dog's name, if you choose to give it
- which product you told us you're interested in
- the fact that you ticked the consent box, and when
If you email us directly, we hold whatever you put in that email for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry.
We don't use analytics, advertising trackers or profiling of any kind on this site.
Why we hold it, and our lawful basis
We hold your details for one purpose: to send you a single email when ordering opens, and to answer you if you've asked us something. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you gave by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time and that won't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details until ordering opens and we've sent that email, or for 24 months, whichever comes first. After that we delete them. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details before then, we'll do it sooner.
Who else touches your data
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives the waitlist form submissions on our behalf. Like any web host, their servers log technical information including IP addresses.
- Google Fonts serves the two typefaces this site uses. Your browser requests those files from Google's servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google when you load a page here. No cookies are set by this.
- Google Mail holds the mailbox we use to read and reply to your messages.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law for international transfers.
We do not sell your data, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own marketing. We'd have to be in a much worse state than this before that changed.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, so there's no cookie banner to click through. Netlify's spam protection on the waitlist form may set a cookie if it needs to verify a submission.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what we hold about you and get a copy of it
- have inaccurate details corrected
- have your details deleted
- restrict or object to how we use them
- receive your details in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time
Email regocollars@gmail.com and we'll action it. There's no charge, and we'll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you think we've handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data — for example when we start taking orders and payments — we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and you're on the waitlist, we'll email you about it.
